Woman walking dog hit and killed near Blue Parkway and Blue Ridge Cutoff

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A woman out walking her dog has died after being hit by a car Wednesday night.

Shortly before 6:15 p.m., first responders were called to the area of Blue Parkway and Blue Ridge Cutoff on a report of a crash involving a pedestrian.

The woman was walking across Highway 350 with a dog when she was hit by a Honda.

Kansas City police said the woman died at the scene. The dog also died.

The driver, who remained on scene, told police they didn’t see the woman because it was dark.

Editor’s note: Officials initially said the victim was a man but later corrected that information, saying the victim was a woman.
