KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- As rain rolled through the metro Tuesday morning, many were left without power.

Residents in the Westport area were without power for nearly two hours. As of 6 a.m. power had been restored to that area, but 29 outages remained. The remaining outages affect nearly 1400 customers.

Kansas City Power and Light says they're not sure if the storms or equipment failure caused the outage.
