KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Mayor’s Christmas Tree is on its way to Kansas City and is scheduled to arrive at Crown Center Square at 9 a.m., on Thursday, Nov. 3.
As part of a 137-year-old tradition, the tree calls public attention to The Mayor’s Christmas Tree Fund, a nonprofit organization that helps senior citizens, people with disabilities, and children during the holiday season.
Cascade Timber Consulting donated the 100-foot-tall Douglas fir, which will have a police escort to 25th and Grand Boulevard following its long journey from Sweet Home, Oregon.
