MERRIAM, Kan. — The Merriam Public Works Department have placed directional signs to inform drivers how to get to IKEA. These signs direct drivers from any of the I-35 exits in Merriam to Antioch where they will be directed to Johnson Drive and IKEA Way for entry into IKEA.

On Tuesday, electronic sign boards will be placed at major intersections around IKEA to inform drivers how to get to the store.

On Wednesday at 6 a.m. officers will be at the following intersections to direct traffic and assist drivers traveling to IKEA:

I-35 and Shawnee Mission Parkway
I-35 and Johnson Drive
Shawnee Mission Parkway / IKEA Way (NO left turn onto IKEA Way)
Shawnee Mission Parkway / Antioch
Antioch / Johnson Drive
Johnson Drive / IKEA Way (Only entrance into IKEA)

Entry into IKEA will be from Johnson Drive only during the Grand Opening. IKEA Way will be a one-way street southbound from Johnson Drive (just south of Quick Trip) to West 62nd Street (just north of the Merriam Police Department).
