CLINTON, Mo. — A 53-year-old woman and a 14-year-old girl were killed Friday afternoon in a crash near Clinton, officials say.

The crash happened just after 4 p.m. Friday on 7 Highway just north of Clinton.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol’s crash report says the woman, later identified as Deann Phillips, lost control of her vehicle on the snow-covered highway and crashed into another vehicle.

Phillips and her 14-year-old passenger, Olivia Phillips, both from Urich, Missouri, were pronounced dead at the scene. It’s not clear at this time the relation between the two victims.

MSHP’s crash report didn’t provide any information about the condition of the other driver.

The highway was closed in both directions for several hours but has since reopened.

There is another fatal crash reported in Carroll County. MSHP says one person died in that crash.

So far Friday evening, Troop A has responded to 58 crashes.
