OVERLAND PARK, Kan. — Missing again. Molly Jones, an Overland Park woman who was reported missing from the University of Kansas Hospital on Saturday and was found Monday morning, is missing again.
Jones’ family reported her missing around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday. Jones was last seen at her home in the area of 83rd and Farley in Overland Park. Police said Jones suffers from a medical condition that causes her to become “catatonic” and “unaware of her surroundings.”
Police said they believe Molly walked away from her home, leaving her purse and her phone behind. She may be wearing a pink sport shirt and blue jeans. She is described as a white female, 5’4′ and 155 pounds with red hair and blue eyes.
Molly’s husband, Leighton Jones, 27, said after Molly was found on Monday she slowly became her “old self” again. Leighton said he had taken her to the hospital for “safety.”
“She can get out of my house anytime she wants,” he said. “I can’t do a good job keeping track of her and the kids. That’s why she was [at the hospital].”
Leighton said the longest Molly has been missing is seven days. If you see her, call the Overland Park Police Department at 913-895-6300 or dial 911.
