TONGANOXIE, Kan. -- A local man is on a mission, and he's using his feet to send a message.

John Kohler is completing a run across Kansas and has been averaging about 40 miles a day for the last 10 days. On Tuesday he will complete his journey. When he's done, he will have completed 435 miles.

The run started as a personal challenge, but evolved into raising money for Social Heart. Social Heart is a non-profit organization that aims to create a better community by supporting local charities through fun, unique fundraising events.

Kohler says his kids motivate him to keep going.
