KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Wedding photographer Mario Antoine has been on FOX 4 News so often he’s almost a regular. Convicted two years ago of defrauding brides and grooms out of wedding photos, limousine rides, DJs and other services, he’s now back in trouble again.

According to the Missouri Attorney General’s office, Antoine violated the terms of five-year probation by defrauding another couple out of $250 in September.

Joe and Jessica Hanika had booked a photo booth for their September wedding through a company they found online. The photo booth was a no show at their September wedding. When the Hanikas contacted the company to find out why — “We heard a thousand excuses,” said Joe Hanika.

The company owner was a man named Mario and that’s all he knew until he started doing some digging on the Internet and learned that Mario was Mario Antoine.

Hanika complained to the Attorney General’s office which filed a motion to revoke Mario Antoine’s probation. On Friday, Mario represented himself in court, telling the judge he was a bad businessman, but not a bad person. He said he had simply forgotten to deliver the photo booth.

The judge ordered Antoine back to jail to serve out the remaining year of his sentence. Hanike said he hopes this time Antoine will actually learn a lesson.

“He’s 30 something years old and still trying to scam people,” Hanika said.

Mario was ordered by the judge to turn himself in by 5 pm. FOX 4 checked with the jail and he did turn himself in as ordered.
