NEW YORK — Hijinks typically ensue when the Kiss-Cam lights up scoreboard screens at arenas and stadiums across the county, and Thursday night in Madison Square Garden was no exception.
While the New York Knicks’ effort in a 120-96 loss to the Houston Rockets was nothing to cheer about, the Garden crowd roared when the Kiss-Cam caught a couple on polar opposites of the excitement spectrum.
A woman spotted herself and her date on the screen, much to the chagrin of the man who looked to be more interested in his phone than his companion. Snubbed by a cold shoulder, the woman turned to her left and began kissing a stranger next to her, much to the delight of the crowd.
It’s unknown if the whole thing was merely a stunt, but the British tourist who film footage of the event told the Daily Mail it was all anyone could talk about afterwards.
“Everyone was talking about it when they left the building, some people even went and high-fived the guy she kissed,” said Hugo Davies.
