TORONTO — Eighty-thousand feet in the air — it’s three times the height that commercial aircraft fly. It’s also the height a weather balloon reached, built and launched by two Toronto-area teenagers.
Seventeen-year-olds Asad Muhammad and Mathew Ho strapped a camera to their creation (and a Lego man with the Canadian flag) before sending it up-up-and-away. The camera captured amazing footage the teens then edited and posted to YouTube.
According to The Mark News, once the weather balloon popped, it took approximately 32 minutes to reach earth and landed about 120 kilometers away from its launch point.
