OLATHE, Kan. -- Olathe police are investigating Wednesday after a restaurant employee says two men robbed him as he was closing up the restaurant.

Police say some time before 4 a.m., two men confronted the employee outside of the Applebee's off of K-7 near the former Great Mall of the Great Plains.

According to police, the suspects showed a gun to the employee and forced him back inside where they robbed him of money, hit him on the head and then fled.

The restaurant's manager called police. The employee was taken to the hospital but is expected to be okay.
