Olathe, Kan — Olathe Fire Department Division Chief, Brad Henson, received the “Fire Marshal” designation from The Commission on Professional Credentialing earlier this month. Division Chief Henson is the first person in Kansas to receive this international designation and one of only 28 Fire Marshals world-wide.

Henson had to meet very stringent criteria set by the CPC.  Criteria includes an assessment of the applicants education, experience, professional development, technical competencies, contributions to the profession and community involvement.  Applicants must also identify a future development plan.

“I am honored to receive the Fire Marshal designation,” said Henson.

“Chief Henson’s commitment to a safer Olathe is second to none.” said Fire Chief Jeff DeGraffenreid

Chief Henson is a 25-year veteran of the Olathe Fire Department  and a life long resident of Olathe.  He is also the president of the Fire Marshals Association of Kansas.
