BELTON, Mo. — A 23-year-old man was killed in a rollover accident in Belton late Tuesday night. Belton police say that just before midnight officers were dispatched to a single-vehicle accident near the entrance ramp to northbound Interstate-49 from MO 58-Hwy.
Investigators say the vehicle traveled down the embankment from the northbound entrance ramp, rolled several times and eventually caught fire, which caused the driver to be trapped. The family of Grant White, 23, of Kansas City, Mo., has been notified. White is formerly from Belton, Mo.
“Our deepest sympathies go out to Grant’s family and friends,” Lt. Travis George, Belton Police Division Commander wrote in the statement.
There were no other occupants in the vehicle at the time of the accident. The cause of the accident is also still under investigation.
