KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Emergency response crews are on the scene of a fatal crash early Monday morning.

Police say that just after 4:10 a.m. along the ramp from westbound I-70 to southbound I-435 a tractor-trailer turned over.

Investigators say they do not know much about the driver, who died, and they are not sure how the driver lost control of the tractor-trailer.

Fire crews, investigators and tow trucks were on the scene working to get the tractor-trailer upright and unpin the driver from the vehicle.

Investigators say the driver was hauling dog food and the cab of the tractor-trailer has Nebraska plates, but it is unclear if the driver is from Nebraska or works from a company based out of Nebraska.

As of 7:30 a.m., the ramp from westbound I-70 to southbound I-435 had reopened.
