Man killed after being hit by vehicle on Nieman Road in Overland Park

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. -- Overland Park police are investigating after a man was hit and killed by a vehicle Wednesday night on Nieman Road.

Officials say the crash involved two trucks, including one with a trailer. Both drivers involved stayed on scene and are cooperating with the investigation, police said.

Further details on what led up to the crash were not immediately available.

Police have closed the road between College Boulevard and 113th Street as they investigate.

A police spokesman said the pedestrian who was struck and killed was a man in his late 40s or early 50s. His name has not been released at this time.
