59-year-old man shot & killed outside office center near 135th and Lamar

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. —  Overland Park police confirmed to FOX4 that a homicide investigation is underway after a shooting Monday morning in a parking lot between two office buildings.

The shooting happened about 8:15 a.m. near 135th and Lamar Avenue outside the Deer Creek Office Center. The victim has been identified as 59-year-old David Flick of Cass County, who has connections to Terra Technologies.

Police have not yet released what led up to the shooting, but did say Flick was found dead in the parking lot outside his vehicle.

Officials said witnesses have given them three conflicting statements so they will not be releasing a suspect description until they can narrow down which witness gave them the most accurate description.

Police said nearby Overland Trail Elementary School was not impacted and the shooting was not on the school property.
