OVERLAND PARK, Kan. — A 20-year-old man was killed Friday in a crash near 69 Highway and College Boulevard.

The crash occurred just after 11 a.m. Friday when a vehicle traveling northbound on 69 Highway left the road and hit another vehicle going east on College. The impact of the crash sheared off the roof of the truck and caused the truck to come to rest about 200 feet from crash scene.

The driver of the truck, who has not been identified at this time, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the second vehicle attempted to leave scene but was detained by officers at the scene, police said. That driver was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

There were no passengers in either vehicle, police said.

College Boulevard is closed from 69 Highway to Mastin as the investigation into the crash continues.
