BOCA RATON, Fla. -- A group of friends and colleagues in Florida decided to celebrate the birthday of their office manager in a quite unusual way.
They got together for a birthday party and colonoscopies.
They all work at Pulmonary and Sleep Associates of South Florida.
The doctor said it was the first time in his 30 years that he'd done birthday party-themed colonoscopies.
One of the women, Susan Ruby, came up with the idea for very personal reasons.
"Two friends of mine, one that's 47, and one that's 57 recently got diagnosed with colorectal cancer. I said, 'You know guys, let's do it and get it over with,'" Ruby said.
