KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A diverted flight made an emergency landing at the Kansas City International Airport Wednesday.
According to airport officials, the Spirit flight, originally headed to Phoenix, Arizona, from Detroit, Michigan, landed safely at 6:43 a.m.
The airline said they diverted due to an unusual odor in the cockpit.
Spirit Airlines flight 721 from Detroit to Phoenix diverted to Kansas City (MCI) out of an abundance of caution following reports of an unusual odor in the cockpit. The plane landed safely at MCI and taxied to the gate where Guests deplaned under normal procedures. The plane had 146 people on board.
