LAWRENCE, Kan. — No injuries were reported after a airplane made a controlled precautionary landing Saturday afternoon in Douglas County.

Kansas Highway Patrol said the incident happened at 1:40 p.m. in a field north of the Lawrence Municipal Airport. The plane was a 4-seat Cessna airplane.

KHP tells FOX4 it is unknown why the plane was not able to land at the airport itself and landed in the field.
