DEARBORN, Mo. — A rural Missouri man no longer faces charges for sex abuse.
The state dropped its case against 28-year-old Anthony Paden on Wednesday.
Last month, Paden’s father Darren was sentenced to 50 years in prison for admitting to routinely raping a girl for 8 years, starting when she was five years old.
Paden faced the same charges as his father, but Platte County prosecutors dropped the case and said the victim wants to avoid the stress of another trial.
The charges could be filed again anytime within 30 years of the victim’s 18th birthday.
