KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A Pleasant Valley police officer is being checked out for injuries following a crash with a school bus on Monday afternoon. Kansas City police dispatchers tell FOX 4 the crash happened near NE Vivion Road and NE Compton Avenue.

No kids were injured, and the officer is at a hospital being treated for non-life threatening head injuries.

FOX 4’s Mary Pulley reports from the scene that the officer was on his way to assist with a car chase that started in Independence when the collision occurred. FOX 4 is told the officer’s lights and siren were on when the crash happened.
