KC police respond to two separate shootings early Saturday

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City police responded to two separate shootings Saturday night.

Police were called to the 100 block of Brooklyn Avenue around 1 a.m. on Saturday after several gunshots were heard in the area.

Upon arrival, a victim was found shot in an alley, showing no signs of life. He was pronounced dead a short time later.

The victim was identified as 52-year-old Thomas E. Kuzila Jr.

Police later responded to another shooting around 2 a.m., this time at the Capital Inn on East 87th Street.

A victim was found lying in the doorway of one of the rooms and pronounced dead a short time later.

The victim was identified as 37-year-old Charles Bolton.

No suspect descriptions are available at this time for either incident. Anyone with information is urged to call the TIPS hotline at (816) 474-TIPS.
