KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Two people were injured in a shooting Wednesday morning in Kansas City, Mo.

Authorities said a man was sitting in a car outside the home where his young children lived near 49th and Flora. According to family members, he was in the car that belonged to the mother of his children and was not allowed to be there. That's when another man, a cousin, came outside and confronted the man -- even getting into the car.

Police found them blocks away and took them to the hospital for their injuries, which were considered non-life threatening. Police will continue their investigation and question the men involved after they're treated at the hospital.

At the time of the shooting, students were waiting at a bus stop at 49th and Flora. They were not injured.
