UPDATE: Police identify 33-year-old victim in deadly shooting in the Northland

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Police are investigating after one person was shot and killed Sunday afternoon.

The incident was reported just before 1 p.m. near NE 49th Street and North Euclid Ave. When officers arrived on scene they found a man shot inside a residence. He was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS and later identified as 33-year-old Patrick Burt.

Police say one man has been taken into custody. Detectives are looking to speak with any witnesses.

Police are continuing to investigate what lead to the shooting.
