KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- A man opened fire along a busy street Monday night, killing a man in the area of 4th and Troup just before 6:30.

Kansas City, Kansas police are left looking for a killer who is described as a heavy-set black man in his mid-30s, with dreadlocks, wearing a white T-shirt, red shorts, and a red hat. Investigators say he left the homicide scene in a gray Dodge charger and headed to Missouri.

The victim, identified as Tyrone Wilson, 42, was shot and killed in the parking lot of the Northeast Jr. High Place apartment building. That's near the intersection of Springfield Boulevard and Parallel Avenue.

Police say witnesses are cooperating.

“There were multiple witnesses, multiple people in their apartments and they could hear what was going on, so this was kind of one of these homicides that happened in broad daylight where everybody could see it, said Officer Cameron Morgan.
