KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Police arrested several people Wednesday evening at a home just a few blocks away from an officer-involved shooting incident earlier in the day.

FOX 4's Robert Townsend was at 9th and Cleveland, where officers had surrounded a house before taking several people into custody.

Investigators searched the neighborhood, even deploying a drone to cover the area. The heavy police presence included officers on foot and squad cars parked all around the house and blocking off streets.

SWAT Team members were seen with guns pointed at the two-story house.

An officer confirmed to FOX 4 that the situation was connected to the officer-involved shooting at 9th and Van Brunt, where a plain clothes officer shot and killed a man who reportedly reached for a gun.

Police reportedly took seven people in handcuffs from the home, with at least one person still inside.

Animal control officers were also called to the scene to remove dogs.

FOX 4 will update this story with further developments.
