LONG ISLAND, New York — A 25-year-old man from Long Island has been arrested after police say he admitted he killed his grandmother after a debate over what to watch on TV.

Clarence Newcomb called police early Friday morning to his home in Kings Park, where he lived with his grandmother since he was 2.

When police arrived, according to NBC News, they found Kathleen Newcomb, 82, dead in the living room.

Police don’t know what shows sparked the argument.

Newcomb physically assaulted his grandmother, according to police. There was no history of domestic violence, police said.

Newcomb was set to be charged late Friday, but was taken to the hospital with “several health concerns,” a police spokesman said.
