LIBERTY, Mo. — Police say there called to a home in the 2300 block of M Highway Thursday afternoon after a mother came home to find her son had made some type of explosive device.
According to police, the mother called officers. When police arrived, they found a pipe-type device made out of PVC which had a copper cap.
The home was evacuated and the Kansas City, Mo., Police Bomb and Arson squad was called to help dispose of the device.
Police said the teen, who is 13 years old, is in police custody. The investigation is ongoing, police said.
