MISSION, Kan. — Police say things ended peacefully Monday after a man surrendered following a standoff that lasted nearly seven hours.
According to police, a woman called for help around 12:30 a.m. to report that she had been injured during a disturbance inside of an apartment in the 5000 block of Broadmoor and that the man inside was armed with a weapon.
Upon their arrival, police called a standoff based on the woman’s information and began negotiations with the man.
Around 7:30 a.m. police threw tear gas inside and the man came out peacefully.
Police could not confirm whether the man had a weapon inside with him.
The woman has some injuries, police say, but they are not considered life-threatening.
