KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Authorities are investigating after a body was found on Saturday in Kansas City. Police have ruled the death a homicide.
Officers responded to a report of a body found in the area of 67th and Lewis around 11 a.m. Police identified the victim on Monday as Brandon Herring, a 21-year-old black male.
The exact cause of death is unknown, but Herring has been as a missing person for a few months. In November his family told FOX 4 that they were hoping for a miracle after he vanished.
Herring's body was reportedly found by a team searching for missing woman, Jessica Runions. Runions went missing in September after leaving a party.
