KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Police arrested two parents Tuesday after an elementary principal said they lost their tempers when their child was cited for dress-code violations.

The argument happened over the lunch hour at Burke Elementary, 11115 Bennington Ave. in the Hickman Mills School District.

The parents were reportedly told that their son's khaki pants violated the school's dress code because the pants had cargo pockets.

Police told FOX 4 that the parents showed up at the school angry about the situation. One parent was cited for assault and property damage for allegedly kicking over a flower pot and chest-bumping the principal. The other was arrested for disorderly conduct.
