KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- From razor blades to pedometers, if you're in the market for one, we've got some tips you'll want to know before you head to the store.

Razor blades are everyday items that don’t cost a lot, but because you buy them all the time, a little savings can add up. Consumer Reports priced two dozen shaving products looking for which stores offered the best and worst deals. They found pretty significant price differences.

For example a Gillette Venus Embrace, which includes a razor and two cartridges, was $8.59 on But at CVS it was $13.19, that’s a 35 percent difference.

A four-pack of Schick Hydro Silk cartridges were $12.20 cents on Amazon, but at CVS they are $19.37.

And for shaving cream the seven-ounce Gillette Satin Care with a touch of Olay gel was just $1.98 at Walmart, but it was $4.49 at Walgreens. That’s a 56 percent price difference.

In total, Consumer Reports found that Amazon had the lowest price the majority of time followed by Walmart and then Target.

But remember when you buy on Amazon you need to pay for shipping unless you order more than $25 worth of merchandise. So you have to take the shipping cost into account.

Moving on to activity monitors. These are the devices that track your steps and the calories you burn..... Consumer Reports tested six of the devices for accuracy and ease in use and it found three it really liked.

They are:  the Fit Bit One, it retails for $100 and you clip it on before exercising. You can sync it with other apps like My Fitness Pal and it even tracks your motion while you sleep.

Another high scorer is Nike Plus Fuelband. It's a bracelet that lights up. The lights change from red to green as you get closer to your goal. It retails for $150.

Finally is the Up by Jawbone and it retails for $130 and tracks your eating and sleeping habits and you can shower with it on.
