KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- If a picture tells a million words, what do you think this picture says?

“I think it shows everybody in Kansas City is behind the Royals 100%,” fan Mary Beth Cicchetti said.

Clearly visible is a line down the street and worn grass from the thousands that had to have a picture with Salvy.

“It's part of the city, part of the community,” fan Gwen Aylwrad said.

All ages and generations came to the sign with one common love.

“It's exciting! Tomorrow's opening day, we have to have Royals excitement and spirit!” Cicchetti said.

From Salvy on Summit to Salvy in the Crossroads, fans are preparing for a day they’ve been dreaming of since last season.

“I'm gonna wear my Salvy jersey, we love salvy,” fan Dan Ketelle said.

“I've been a Royals fan my whole life, I've never come into opening day having won the world series,” fan Brandi Anstine said.

It's a whole new level of excitement and fans say with that comes a new wardrobe.

“We're all wearing kegger at my moms house shirts!” Anstine said.

New outfits are not only for what will be hundreds of opening day pictures, but also to deck the K out in blue, to give the Royals a big message.

“We just love what you've accomplished, so proud of you. We can't wait to begin this year with another win,” fan Denise Ketelle said.

“Play with your hearts boys,” Cicchetti said.

“We're cheerin for ya!” Ketelle said.

This is where all eyes will be. Groundkeepers at Kauffman Stadium sprayed the last bits of red, white and blue paint onto the grass this morning, marking with perfect precision the opening day logos.

Fans are ready, the field is ready, now all that’s left is to play ball.

The Salvy Splash billboard will be up through opening weekend, then taken down Monday.
