MOSCOW — Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev caused a stir around the world and (maybe?) the universe over the weekend when he mentioned ‘top secret files’ he has about aliens that may have landed in Russia.
It was apparently just a joke, although sometimes jokes can get lost in translation.

According to the Associated Press, the comments came after a television interview. The former president joked that each Russian leader gets two folders with information about extraterrestrials that visited our planet – and stayed here.

He apparently told a TV journalist that he could not tell the journalist “how many of them are among us, because it may cause panic.”

Medvedev was known for showing his sense of humor during his presidency from 2008-2012, unlike his predecessor, Vladimir Putin.
