Eight people injured, including family of seven, in head-on crash in KCK

KANSAS CITY, Kan. — KCK police are investigating a crash that left eight people hurt Thursday afternoon.

Around 3 p.m., police were called to the area of 7th Street and Osage for a two-vehicle crash.

Investigators said a silver Honda Pilot was traveling south on 7th Street when it crossed into oncoming traffic, hitting a tan Mercury Mountaineer traveling north.

A family of seven was inside the Mountaineer, including several kids, who sustained critical injuries. The driver of the Honda was also critically injured. All of them were transported to the hospital.

Police said when you look at the damage to the two vehicles, it really was a miracle that everyone survived the crash.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
