Shawnee teenager dies in wreck on K7

JOHNSON COUNTY, Kan. — The Kansas Highway Patrol says a 17-year-old boy from Shawnee died in a wreck that happened late on Friday night.

An online crash report says that Sterling Franzwa was driving a Ford F150 northbound on K7 near mile marker 162 and lost control, entered the median and rolled several times before the truck came to rest in the southbound lanes.

No other vehicles were involved in the wreck, the crash report states that the victim wasn’t wearing a seat belt.
