KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- Police are investigating a shooting that left two people dead. Officers were called to 16th & Roswell around 2:45 a.m. on Saturday. Police say they heard shots being fired as they arrived.

Police found Laura Mitchie, 40 and Monty Male, 54, lying in front of the home. They confronted a person of interest on the scene and the person got into a vehicle and led police on a chase. That person was later taken into custody in Riverside, Mo.

Investigators stayed on the scene for quite some time searching for evidence. One of the victim's friends, Fran Turner said she was surprised to get a call about what happened at the home.

"My sister called me and told me that my cousin died," Turner said.

Witnesses said the violence started when a man was not allowed inside a party being hosted by the Egyptian Cobras Motorcycle Club. When the man was turned away, he started shooting.

During their investigation, police discovered there were two other shooting victims with non-life threatening injuries at local hospitals.
