One person injured in shooting near Oak Park Mall

LENEXA, Kan. -- Police investigated a shooting near 95th and Quivira that happened at about 10 Thursday night in the area of Oak Park Mall. Police were still looking for a suspect Friday morning.

An officer said they saw a vehicle leaving the scene and after pursing it were able to make a stop. Police then located the victim of the shooting inside of the vehicle.

Police say that the injured man was in a car when he was shot and was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police from both Overland Park and Lenexa searched for the suspect who ran from the shooting scene.

Police said there were several other occupants in the vehicle at the time of the shooting but no other injuries have been reported.

While investigating, police said they found bullet holes in the victim's vehicle. Police also found a motorcycle at the scene that they said could belong to the suspect.

Police have not said what might have caused the shooting yet.
