EUREKA, Mo. -- The first day of the season came to an abrupt end at Six Flags St. Louis on Friday. Sister station KTVI reports that a power outage shut the park down at about 4:15 p.m., closing it about two hours earlier than scheduled. Some roller coaster riders were manually escorted off of their rides.

The cause of the outage hasn't been determined yet, but the park followed a protocol in place to deal with this kind of event. Crews from Ameren are working on the issue, and the park plans to reopen on Saturday morning as scheduled.

No injuries were reported according to KTVI.
