KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Crews had to shut off gas and make repairs to a broken main in the area of Gregory and Oak streets on Wednesday afternoon. Missouri Gas Energy evacuated some people in the area after checking levels at surrounding homes and businesses.

At about 8:15 p.m., MGE said repairs were complete, and the only work left to do was filling holes after they excavated to get to the source of the problem.

The company said that 13 homes were without gas during the break.
