KANSAS CITY, Kan. — All-Star goalkeeper Jimmy Nielsen recorded his ninth shutout of the season, and Sporting Kansas City drew 0-0 with the New England Revolution on Saturday night at Livestrong Sporting Park.
With the draw, Sporting KC is now 11-6-4 with a home record of 6-2-2. They currently hold second place in the Eastern Conference with 37 points, one point behind the New York Red Bulls.
Nielsen’s nine shutouts are the most by any goalkeeper in MLS.
The New England Revolution’s record remains 6-9-5 with 23 points.
Sporting KC’s next match will be against French Ligue 1 Champions Montpellier Herault SC on Tuesday night at Livestrong Sporting Park.
