Statue of Liberty to reopen by July 4

NEW YORK — The Statue of Liberty will reopen to the public by the Fourth of July, Interior Secretary Ken Salazar announced Tuesday afternoon during a conference call with reporters.

The World Heritage Site was damaged during Superstorm Sandy in October and has been closed to the public since.
