RAYMORE, Mo. -- Tate Stevens still can't believe it. 2013 has been a whirlwind. He looks back at the last eight months and shakes his head.

"There's times, you know, I'm like "Are you kidding me??" We're here? And I'm getting to do this?" Stevens said.

Stevens has been hard at work. Writing, recording, touring. You name it, he's been busting his backside to succeed. He does it for himself, his family and the fans.

"I still am truly humbled by the fact that they put me here, everyday I see the water tower in Belton. It's a reminder not to give up! I can't suck now, you know what I mean?" Stevens said.

Stevens said throughout his journey on the X Factor, it was for the fans and because of the fans. As it became clear he was a front-runner, he was often asked what he would do if he won. After a little prodding, he proclaimed, "I'm gonna throw a big a** party!" From the second he won, many wondered if he ever would. The answer is yes.

Tate is teaming up with radio station Q-104 for a Saturday concert. It's called Y'allapalooza 2013 Tate's Big Ass Party. It's this Saturday at Starlight Theater and he is pumped.

"I just want everyone to know that what I said was true," said Stevens.

Gates open at 4 p.m., but you might want to get there much earlier. Tate put a special Kansas City spin on the pre-concert activities.

"We're going do some tailgating, we'll feed three to four hundred people and just hang out," explained Stevens.

"I thought, you know what? We tailgate before Chiefs games and Royals games and things like that, why not do it before a show? So we'll do that, have a tailgate before the show." Stevens said.

Promise kept, and then some.
