KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Prosecutors have charged a Kansas City, Missouri, teen with murder in connection to a Christmas Eve shooting that left a man dead.

Dalvin D. Johnson, 17, faces second-degree murder, first-degree robbery and two counts of armed criminal action charges in connection to the December 24th murder of Joseph T. Jones on the city’s East Side. Adrian M. Botello has already been charged with murder and robbery in connection to the case.

According to prosecutors, Johnson and Botello lured Jones to the area of 23rd and Van Brunt late Christmas Eve with the intention of robbing him. When he resisted, prosecutors allege that Johnson and Botello then shot him, leaving him to die in the street.

Johnson and Botello are both in custody in the Jackson County Jail.
