PRAIRIE VILLAGE, Kan. — Vending machines for freshly mixed fruit and vegetable smoothies will be everywhere if a local teenage entrepreneur is successful.

Marshall Green loves the taste, texture and health benefits of smoothies. But he’s tired of the mess and inconvenience of making his own with his family’s blender. Now the Shawnee Mission East High School senior is developing a concept for what he believes will be the first vending machine that mixes and dispenses smoothies — and you can customize what goes in.

“And this is an idea that I’m all in on,” said Green. “And when I get behind something, it really drives me and pushes me forward.”

Green’s working up designs on computer and is consulting with specialists on plans for a prototype, which is attracting investors.

“And then we’re going to start manufacturing the actual machines that we can place in the schools and the businesses and the work rooms and all that,” said Green. “So hopefully we’ll have smoothie vending machines in a location near you in about seven-eight months.”

An Internet crowdfunding campaign is underway to help Green raise money to build his prototype smoothie vending machine. CLICK HERE for the link.
