KANSAS CITY, Mo. — After a year-long delay, automaker Tesla is showing off its first SUV.
The automaker unveiled the Model X to customers Thursday after almost two years of delays.
The company says more than 30,000 customers have already reserved one of the new cars.
The Model X ‘s top-of-the-line signature series costs $132,000 dollars.
The new SUV comes equipped with a number features such as a unique falcon-wing rear doors. But a spokesperson from Tesla says the most important feature about the vehicle is its safety.
The company said the Model X ‘s release was delayed because of complications.
The first retail location in Kansas City will open at Country Club Plaza. Grand opening weekend will be Oct. 16-18 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
