Data pix.

So you're on Twitter. You have a snazzy handle. A killer background. Your tweets are compelling snippets of information that your followers revel in. Right?

Probably not.

Turns out, the average Twitter user is a 28-year-old white woman who tweets mostly about family and fashion. She has a strong attraction to the color purple and prefers to tweet from her iPhone.

This new data comes from the analytics firm, Beevolve. According to their statistics, that average 28-year-old woman has an average following of 208 people. Their findings also revealed that women tweet 43 times more often than men. Beevolve found men were tweeting 567 times per day, where as women, the more chatty gender, tweeted 610 times a day.

So what exactly is all the tweeting about? Depends on the gender. Men typically tweet about technology, sports and work. Women on the other hand fancy tweets about family and fashion.

And finally, Beevolve found it's Americans and our neighbors across the pond in Great Britain who do the most tweeting.
