Three inmates escape custody in Lansing

LANSING, Kan. — Officials with the Kansas Department of Corrections said three inmates walked away from the Lansing Correctional Facility Friday morning.

The inmates were all living in the ‘minimum unit’ at the facility.

The names of the men and their descriptions are as follows:

Allen M. Hurst

    • 31 years old
    • 2010 conviction- multiple counts of burglary and theft in Sedgwick County
    • 5’9″
    • 220 lbs
    • Caucasian
    • Blue eyes, brown hair


Scott Gilbert

    • 49 years old
    • 2010 conviction — multiple counts burglary and theft in Sedgwick County
    • 6’2″
    • 231 lbs
    • Caucasian
    • Brown eyes, brown hair


Randy Ridens, Sr.

  • 57 years old
  • 210 conviction — multiple counts burglary and one count theft in Shawnee and Douglas Co.
  • 5’11”
  • 230 lbs
  • Brown eyes, brown hair
