Three thrown from vehicle during police pursuit

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Three people were thrown from a vehicle Wednesday evening on I-29 while fleeing from police.

Police began following the car in Kansas City, Kan., believing the people inside were suspects in an aggravated assault there.

When the car didn't pull over for them, Kansas City, Kan. police kept pursuing and called in Riverside police when they crossed the state line. Authorities put down stop sticks to stop the driver.

The driver lost control; the car flipped on its side and crashed at southbound I-29 and I-635.

Police said as many as five people may have been inside. Three were thrown from the car. One person was reportedly trapped, but all were expected to survive.
